iPhone 12/12 Pro Personalized Case: ESR Pop! Series for iPhone Review

If you’re wondering whether you should buy the ESR Pop! Style Case for your iPhone 12 or 12 Pro, read on!

To be fair, I’ve already got a few products from ESR for my apple products. I know that their product quality is fairly banged on, which is why I was looking forward to receiving my Pop! Style case in the mail.

First things first, when I choose phone cases for myself, I am usually against the huge, bulky types, even though they are supposed to provide your phone with extra layers of protection. Being the sort of female who hates to carry a bag every time she steps of out of the house, I prefer my phone cases to be stylish and thin, without a ton of extra bulk. Yes, I still want the protection, but also with a design aesthetic that will not turn me off every time I look at my phone.

The ESR Pop! Style Case easily checks all these non-negotiables for me, and how!

I’m going to go into a bit more detail so that you know exactly what you’re paying for when you choose one of ESR’s Pop! Style cases.

The Good!

My order reached me fairly quickly, despite ESR giving me a heads up about possible Covid-19 related shipping delays. The packaging was secure and the case itself was wrapped well. Brownie points to the team for using recyclable material.

Let’s first talk about whether the Pop! Style case is actually able to protect your phone well enough. The Pop! Style case features something ESR calls Air-Guard corners. This is in addition to the pillowy sort of back that the case has.

I popped the cover onto my phone and it fits perfectly. No loose corners and no weirdly placed cutouts that hinder access to the buttons on the sides. After that, I proceeded to “accidentally” drop my phone a few dozen times, but the phone itself remained unharmed.

The shock-absorbing corners of the case, as well as that cushioned back, seems to protect the phone very well. With Apple making third-party repairs of the 12/12 Pro almost close to impossible, a strong case like the Pop! The style will definitely make life easier.

Another thing I like about this case is that it is wireless charging ready. With many other cases that I’ve invested in, I have had to remove the case each time I want to wirelessly charge my phone and to be honest, it gets mildly irritating after a while.

The cushioned back portion of the cover is highly scratch resistant and is an amazing change from covers that claim to be scratch resistant but end up being scratched by random forgotten things like keys or coins in your pockets or bag.

I also like the overall grip that the case offers. I dislike phone covers that have slippery sides and do not offer a decent texture to hold on to. Of the seven out of the ten times that I’ve dropped my phone, it’s usually been because of the slipperiness of my phone cover. Bonus points to ESR for identifying this common problem and creating a cover with a fantastic grip.

Overall, I am very happy with the protection that the ESR’s Pop! Style case offers.

Now let us get into the style factor. To be honest, this is the first thing that attracted me to the case. With multiple options, seven to be precise, to choose from, there is a Pop! Style case for you, no matter what your preferred aesthetic is.

I absolutely adore the ombre effect that three cases have- Electric Ombre, Sunrise Mimosa, and Blue Lagoon. Talk about a glow-up for your phone!

The designs stand out and are a far cry from the boring, one tone cases that have flooded the current market. I have the Sunrise Mimosa on my phone at the moment, but I am sorely tempted to get myself one of the Blue Lagoon cases too.

What is reassuring is that the colours you see on screen are the ones you actually end up getting. I was a little worried about whether the case would be as brightly coloured as the pictures online but as you can see below, there was no “internet v/s reality” moment when I unboxed the case.

At the time of writing this review, the Pop! Style cases are all on sale, and cost a reduced price of AUD 29.11 instead of the usual price of AUD 36.39. Is it worth the price, in my opinion? I’d say yes, simply because it combines two of the most important things I look for in a phone case – good looks and strong protection from accidental falls.

The Not So Good!

To be honest, in the few weeks that I have used Pop! Style case in Sunrise Mimosa, I have not found any things that may put me off from buying another one of these beauties.

Only time will tell as to how soon the colours on the case might start fading. I will also be on the lookout for whether the sides will start discolouring at all, and if they do, how long does the case last before turning completely dull and yellow.

I have bought multiple cases from different brands that start out as bright and transparent, but quickly start yellowing and tearing down. I will wait to see if that happens with ESR’s Pop! Style cases too, or if it lasts longer than the usual plastic cases in the market.

The Overall Verdict!

If it isn’t clear as yet from the above review, I am quickly becoming a fan of the new ESR Pop! Style iPhone cases. If you like a brightly coloured case that is sure to turn a few heads and bring you a compliment or two (or a dozen!), I’d strongly suggest you get your hands on one of these cases before they sell out!
