Samsung Galaxy S20 Series VS iPhone 11 Series – Which One Should You Buy?

I’m sure you’re all familiar with the age-old question, Android or iPhone. More recently, for those in the market for a high-end phone the choice is between Samsung and iPhone. There both excellent choices and making a properly informed decision is not easy at all. Though like most things information is the key.

Once you have a clear understanding of the pros and cons of both. Making a decision will be far easier than you thought.

Comparison between Samsung Galaxy S20 Series VS iPhone 11 Series

PRICE

The Samsung Galaxy S20 series price range starts from $999, in comparison with the iPhone 11 series, which starts from $699. If budgeting is of the utmost concern when buying a phone, then getting an iPhone 11 is potentially the best option. But if you are willing to look past the price and wish to see the benefits of both the series, then the Samsung Galaxy S20 series may not disappoint you.

At the entry level model, the iPhone 11 ranges from $649 to $899 depending on your storage capacity, which can be anywhere from 64GB to 512GB. The Galaxy S20 at it’s cheapest is $999 and has only one storage capacity option 128GB.

DESIGN

The display of both phones is beautiful and elegant. iPhone 11 features a 6.1-inch screen, whereas Samsung Galaxy S20 features a 6.2 -inch screen. Although, because of the punch-hole front camera in Galaxy S20, its display looks fuller and smoother compared to an iPhone 11. The camera bump is evident in both the phones, but in the iPhone 11 – it blends with the color of the back of the phone and looks elegant. On the other hand, the rear camera in Galaxy S20 is black in color – which makes it easier to see the sensors.

With respect to different colors, iPhone 11 series features a varying range of six classy colors – green, purple, yellow, Product Red if you’re after a more vibrant looks, and black and white for a more subtle look. The Galaxy S20 features three colors – Cloud Pink, Cloud Blue, and Cosmic Gray.

CAMERA

The Samsung Galaxy S20 comes to play for the extra dollars in this area – with a 12MP main sensor, 64MP 3x telephoto zoom sensor, and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, it captures crisp, clear, and vibrant pictures. The iPhone 11 offers a 12MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera — iOS has always been a consumer’s favorite for its camera. But this time it looks like Samsung has taken a step ahead with the Galaxy S20. Although Apple does offer a 12MP 2x optical telephoto lens – it is only available in the iPhone 11 Pro models.

If we compare pictures from both phones, they are relatively the same in quality. But if the zooming feature is something that holds importance for you, then you should consider the Galaxy S20 series. Night mode is fantastic on both devices though Samsung may have a slight edge here.

DISPLAY

The Galaxy S20 comes with an AMOLED display, while the iPhone 11 has an LCD. Due to this, The Galaxy S20’s display looks miles better from a color perspective but the iPhone offers better control over screen brightness. The S20 also offers an advantageous 120Hz refresh rate, which makes videos look smoother and makes the process of scrolling through the screen swift. Although, a downside of this feature is lower resolution in order to conserve battery life.

STORAGE

Unfortunately, none of these phones offer multiple RAM capacities. But, the Galaxy S20 has 12GB RAM as compared to 4GB RAM – the 8GB makes a big difference because RAM storage plays an important role when it comes to software functioning. But because the two operating systems of Android and iOS use different CPUs, it’s difficult to understand the true difference between their functionalities and capacities.

BATTERY

Despite not having any official statement released from Apple on the battery capacity of the iPhone 11, our unofficial finding is that it has a 3,100 mAh cell. The Galaxy S20, on the other hand, comes with a 4,000 mAh cell, which gives it a bit better battery life. When it comes to charging, the iPhone 11 comes with a 5W charger, but Apple offers an 18W charger that you can buy separately. As compared to this, Samsung offers 25W charger with the Galaxy S20, but also sells 45W charger separately. In this aspect, Samsung is the clear winner.

NETWORK

The best feature of the Galaxy S20 is hands down its fast network – 5G, which is better at all levels than the LTE that is offered by the iPhone 11 series. If you live in an area that offers 5G, then you will be able to enjoy high data speed along with several other advantageous features.

Final Thoughts!

The above-given comparisons of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series Vs. iPhone 11 series are unbiased and objective. it is now completely upon you to see which features fit your expectations for a mobile phone. Whether you’re after a better camera, price, network speed, or other features, you really can’t go wrong with either phone.

At the end of this guide, the decision is yours to make. It is necessary to consider each and every aspect of the phone you will be buying. From price to network, if you have a clear understanding of what is important to you, the choice is easy.
