in full disclosure, i love ESR. i particularly love their iPad and iPhone screen protectors and swear by them as my personal gold standard, upon which all others are measured. my high expectations were pleasantly fulfilled by the receipt of this device. built for airplane travel, but equally useful in OTG situations, this begins with a tenacious Magsafe magnet and the requisite adhesive magnetic mounts for those without built-in Magsafe potential. the neck and body of this mount is a dark chrome painted plastic, with a side lever to adjust the depth of the attaching end for a tenacious tension mount to a plane table or nearby cabinet, or anything with a lip. similarly, the dial can be used to help pry the device off its securing mount when necessary. super nice piece of kit for OTG purposes. the neck for the iPhone or similar device has full up/down adjustability with good tensioning, and the surface mount has double integrated rubber padding to afford the best traction and surface protection possible. will this be nice for flying? for sure. other long-distance travel (train, bus, etc)? likely true. the gym? potentially! on and on. if you’re in the market for a similar device, this is worth putting on the final consideration deck. flip a coin if you have to, but don’t worry about it too much.

This is one of those accessories that is difficult to be without once you start using it. Basically, itʻs a spring-loaded clamp paired with a MagSafe ring to attach to your phone. You can tilt and rotate your phone to any angle your heart desires, and the mount is sturdy enough that you can tap on the screen all you want without dislodging the phone. While it excels at clamping to your airline tray, it can play tripod duty to take pictures or scan documents… it even works as a car mount if your rental doesnʻt have CarPlay and you need to clamp it to the edge of your instrument panel or any suitable surface to see the screen. I spend a lot of time in restaurants alone when I travel, and itʻs nice to be able to mount my phone to the edge of a table and read or watch content while I eat. This keeps it out of the way and above food and the occasional spill. The tilt and rotating mechanism is stiff and doesnʻt lose itʻs position under turbulence, and the clamp is strong enough to be a potential issue for some users although I like it. Itʻs an indispensable part of my travel kit and I would get another one if I ever lost this. Definitely recommend.

I’ve tried at least 3 of these airplane phone holders. And I like this one the most. I started with the clamp version, but ever since I’ve been using the magsafe version I cannot go back. The convenience of being able to attach and detach the my iphone with ease is just great. This ESR mount has good magnetic strength, yet it is light. The clear plastic ring in the middle is definitely a great design choice and it makes it aesthetically pleasing. This ESR phone holder is my goto travel mount every time. I can gladly recommend this product!

This small portable cell phone stand and holder comeswith a MagSafe magnetic circle attachment so you can still use this even if your phone does not have the MagSafe ability already. It can work with almost any phone. It is a cute pink color that will stand out against wherever you clamp it so you won’t forget it on a plane. It comes with cleaning wipe, dry wipe, and instructions for putting the magnetic attachment on your phone if you do not have MagSafe. No need to do anything if your phone has MagSafe, simply attach your phone to stand. The clamp width is also retractable (see picture) so you can hang it off many different surfaces, not just a plane seat. You can use it on your nightstand stand, desk, classroom, dorm, office, etc. It has a strong magnetic hold. However, one thing to be aware of is that although there are QR codes included for viewing an instruction video, both QR codes provided in the box with the phone holder led me to an error page- 404 page not found. I hope my photos and review are helpful to you.

If your phone/device doesn’t have magnetic capability, the holder also comes with two self-stick metallic rings so your device will be compatible. I even put a ring onto my iPad Mini and it works great with the holder!

I really like this stand, the spring to hold. It is very strong, which means it’s hard to open, but also it means that it will grab on really tightly to whatever else you clip it on. When we tried this on a couple of different tables we had it fit around it just fine, which means it will fit just fine on an airplane table and one of the really good things about this is the MagSafe magnet on mine was super strong, even went through the case that I had holding the phone in place Even when there’s a little turbulence.
