This has a very strong magnet. I purchased for my work van which moves around a lot while driving and with this mount it is as if the phone was glued to it with a MagSafe case. You have to actively try to removed the phone. I highly recommend it

I really wanted to use this phone holder but the instructions in the box state that it will not work on the pebble textured dash surface (found on most car interiors). The same company has another holder that though it is meant to mount on the AC vents, comes with a narrow mount that will fit on a small smooth surface of trim in the car. I have ordered that one and will return this one. not sure why the narrow mount was not included in this one =0/
