ESR Pencil can be used without being paired, but shortcuts and on-screen power levels will be unavailable.
How to pair it with an iPad:
1. Attach Pencil to iPad magnetic connector and then remove it, or long-press button on top of the Pencil for 2 seconds.
2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth > Device List and select "ESR Digital Pencil Pro".
● This ESR pencil is only compatible with iPad models released in 2018 or later and is not compatible with smartphones or any other touchscreen devices.
● Ensure that the pencil is sufficiently charged.
● If your iPad is connected to an Apple Pencil, the ESR Pencil will not work. Please unpair your Apple Pencil from the iPad first.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth, and make sure that Bluetooth is turned on. On the same screen, find your Apple Pencil under "My Devices". Once you have found it, tap info and "Forget this Device".

● Sometimes your Pencil may lag because of temporary glitches. To fix this, turn off your iPad and turn it back on.
● Ensure that the Pencil is sufficiently charged.
● Ensure that the tip is screwed on tight, and replace the tip if it's broken.
● Try using the Pencil without a screen protector.
